Missing an account review will never release your messages.
Nothing is delivered because you stopped signing in or missed a reminder. A report begins a careful verification process involving direct attempts to reach you, your Message Guardians, supporting evidence, administrative review and a waiting period. The worst possible outcome would be delivering your messages while you are alive, so when meaningful uncertainty exists we release nothing.
What we do
- Attempt to reach you directly after any report
- Stop the process immediately if you sign in or respond
- Ask Message Guardians to respond to verification requests
- Review supporting evidence and request more when needed
- Require an administrator to record a verified death
- Apply a waiting period after verification that can be paused
- Record every sensitive action in an append-only audit history
What we never do
- Release messages because an Annual Vault Review was missed
- Release messages because you stopped signing in
- Let a Message Guardian read, edit, delete or redirect a message
- Let one person authorize a delivery
- Treat incapacity as death
- Put private message content inside an email or a text message
- Offer a global “send all messages now” action
Security we have implemented
Row-level database security, server-side authorization for every release decision, separate administrator access, private document storage, expiring invitation and recipient links, input validation, append-only audit records and message version history. We do not claim end-to-end encryption, because it is not implemented in this release: our administrators can access message content when reviewing a claim or a failed delivery.
This service is not a legal will, an estate-planning platform, a public memorial site, or an artificial recreation of a person. It is not an automatic dead-man’s switch.
